country chic!

this wheel-thrown jar is made of dark stoneware clay. the jar is glazed in satin white, due to the clay body, the glaze appears off-white in color. where the glaze is slightly heavy, carbon trapping occurred (soot from the firing) that looks like the word “you”. i am a fan of the carbon trapping, it’s an unexpected addition that gives character to the jar. iron in the clay speckles the satin white, completing the rustic charm. this jar is perfect in the kitchen to hold salt, herbs, or other dried goods!

it measures 3.5 inches tall
