minty celadon!
this wheel-thrown tumbler is made of stoneware/porcelain mixed clay. the entire tumbler is glazed in pale celadon, and i promise you, it’s not broken. the cracking you see is called crazing — for some it’s a defect, for others it’s character. here, the crazing is superficial and doesn’t extend through the glaze. because crazing can be considered a defect, this tumbler is best cleaned in the dishwasher to prevent any chance of bacteria settling in. who wants to hand-wash anyway?! not me!
this tumbler — or thumbler, as i like to call it — has a subtle indentation on one side for a steady, comfortable grip. it’s especially useful for those with dexterity issues or larger hands, all without changing the clean, minimal silhouette of the piece. the form settles into a slightly wider base that gently narrows to a small, trimmed foot — visually light, yet steady and balanced in the hand.
