this wheel-thrown tumbler is made of high-fire porcelain/stoneware mixed clay. the interior and top rim are glazed with gray-blue that melts into gentle drips down the exterior. the lower body is left unglazed and takes on the full beauty of soda firing: ribbons of peach, blush, ochre, and warm earth tones created by vapor, flame, and chance.
the exterior shows subtle throwing lines and natural variation where soda and ash kissed the surface, creating glossy moments alongside velvety matte patches. every side is different — a little landscape of fire, clay, and serendipity. the form settles into a slightly wider base that gently narrows to a small, trimmed foot — visually light, yet steady and balanced in the hand.
