this wheel-thrown tray is made of dark stoneware clay and features two laceleaf maple imprints pressed directly into the surface. after the leaves were lifted away, the impressions were lightly stained with iron oxide to bring out their delicate shapes. a layer of clear glaze was applied over everything, letting the gray, speckled clay show through where the leaves once were — subtle, natural, and full of quiet detail.
the tray rests on four small feet, giving it a gentle lift and a grounded feel on a table or counter. it’s a versatile little piece — lovely for jewelry, keys, tea bags, a desk tray, or any small things you like to keep gathered in one spot.
