this wheel-thrown spoon rest is made of a white stoneware clay. it is glazed in satin white with an overlapping band of rutile blue that creates a sandy tan band in the middle and a dappled purple rim. thin rutile does a variety of colorings: seen here it goes tan or beige on top of the white and a more dappled brown with spots of purple.
