this wheel-thrown mug leans into playful experimentation. made from a dark stoneware clay, its body was gently altered with a rib, cutting upward at an angle to create soft, sculptural movement. after firing, the surface was stained with black iron oxide and coated in a bright white glaze, leaving an earthy, textural finish that feels like catching a moment mid-motion.
the handle includes a comfortable thumb rest, and the tiny peek-through hole where the handle meets the mug adds a bit of unexpected charm. the form relaxes outward at the base, then all but disappears into a small foot — a sweet bit of balance that feels good in use.
