this wheel-thrown mug is made from a high-fire porcelain/stoneware blend and glazed in clear to let the natural clay shine. pressed maple leaves wrap around the mug, each one brushed with a blue mason-stained slip before firing. once the slip dried, the leaves were peeled away, leaving their crisp impressions and that soft blue bleed that’s become a signature of this botanical series.
the handle includes a small inward curve underneath, giving a little extra space for a comfortable, secure hold. light speckling in the clay and gentle throw lines add to the cozy, handmade feel.
