bright electric blue!
this wheel-thrown jar is made of a mix of dark and white stoneware clay. the jar is glazed with rutile blue and features texturing both on the body and lid, called chattering. the jar is formed from one single piece of clay, it is split when leather hard and trimmed so that the separate pieces fit nicely.
in the grooves where the clay has been cut out from the walls, the rutile blue glaze is present creating a gorgeous blend of bare clay and vibrant blue coloring. tea bags, dried goods, toiletries and more are suitable for this container!
measurements: with lid and basin just over 5½” H x just over 4½” W; basin alone measures 3¼” H
