what a cutie patootie!
this wheel-thrown jar is made of dark stoneware clay. the jar is glazed in satin white, due to the clay body, the glaze appears off-white in color. where the glaze is slightly heavy, carbon trapping occurred (soot from the firing) that looks like the outlines of a mountain range. i think it makes a lovely addition and gives the jar a bit of pizazz! iron in the clay speckles the satin white, completing the rustic charm. the lid shows more of the true satin white glaze coloring, a quirk of the firing! tea bags, dried goods, toiletries and more are suitable for this container!
measurements: with lid and basin just over 3¾” H x just over 4” W; basin alone measures just under 3” H
