colorado snow and wheat fields
this wheel-thrown jar is made of light colored high-fire stoneware clay. the jar is chattered, divots of clay taken out during the trimming process, that leaves a gentle texture. the jar is formed from one single piece of clay, it is split when leather hard and trimmed so that the separate pieces fit nicely.
with the texture and bright white glazing i’m reminded of my early adulthood in colorado on the plains, with fallow fields dotted with snow accumulations. the handle features a daub of rich merlot purple, a fun pop of color! tea bags, dried goods, toiletries and more are suitable for this container!
measurements: with lid and basin just over 4¾” H x just over 4½” W; basin alone measures just under 3” H
