stunning simplicity!
this wheel-thrown jar is made of dark high-fire red stoneware clay. the jar is glazed only with bright white, allowing the speckling from the iron in the clay to show clearly. the jar is formed from one single piece of clay; it is split when leather hard and trimmed so that the separate pieces fit nicely. if you know my work, you know i’m a fan of the throw lines seen inside, telling the story of the clay’s movement from a puck to a cylinder and eventually a jar! tea bags, dried goods, toiletries and more are suitable for this container!
measurements: with lid and basin just over 6½” H x just over 4½” W; basin alone measures just under 4¼” H
