this wheel-thrown tumbler is made of high-fire stoneware/porcelain mixed clay. the ever beloved rutile blue glaze is used both inside and out with a rim dip in black creating a rich blue near the top paired with a metallic brown rim. there is a little comet ascending this night sky by way of a slight bare spot in the glaze, one of the quirks in firing, which has no ill effect on its usability.
as indicated by name, this tumbler features an indentation for a thumb hold for a steady and comfortable grip. it’s especially useful for those with dexterity issues or larger hands without changing the aesthetic appeal and overall shape of the tumbler!
