this wheel-thrown mug is made of high-fire porcelain/stoneware mixed clay. the interior is glazed in classic bright white while the interior and rim are glazed in moss green. the base highlights a dip glazing with gray-blue creating quintessential colors of the PNW. flipped over, it’s easy to see the darkening sky above a mountainous forest; the cascading colors of green and tan with deep blues evoke nature at its best.
let’s talk about this unique design! originating from feedback received at markets, some mugs have been adjusted to be more accessible for people with large hands, strength or dexterity issues. underneath the handle, the clay wall is indented inward slightly, giving extra room for the knuckles, providing a more comfortable and steadying grip.
