fun with shapes!
this wheel-thrown mug is made of high-fire dark stoneware clay. being experimental again, the mug presents the typical shape while exhibiting some wild textures, like some demonstration of catharsis. various tools were used to make angled lines, shallow and deep, at varying angles. once fired, the mug was stained with black iron oxide and glazed in bright white. the handle bears a thumb rest and where it and handle meet, a hole was bored that can be seen through. it was so fun playing with the creation process!
