this wheel-thrown mug is made of high-fire porcelain/stoneware mixed clay. the mug interior is glazed in mellow yellow and the exterior is glazed in shiny black overlapping mellow yellow. at every turn, this mug is a stunner. the translucency of the glazing shows delicate shaping lines from the mug’s construction and the middle band of coloring is soft grays and greens that are beautiful!
let’s talk about this unique design! originating from feedback received at markets, some mugs have been adjusted to be more accessible for people with large hands, strength or dexterity issues. underneath the handle, the clay wall is indented inward slightly, giving extra room for the knuckles, providing a more comfortable and steadying grip.
