inverted night sky!
this wheel-thrown cereal bowl is made of white stoneware clay. the interior is glazed in satin white, while the rim and exterior are glazed in moss green. the green shows most strongly along the rim, with the walls shifting between rusty-bronze and soft green for a naturally earthy look. the black speckling from iron in the clay creates dark constellations in the satin white sky interior — one of my favorite details, adding a bit of visual interest to what could otherwise be a plain interior.
this bowl is sized for everyday cereal, but it also works beautifully as a grain bowl, a small salad bowl, a cozy serving dish for sides, or a perfect place for fruit, ramen, or snacks. light and easy to hold, made to fit naturally into daily routines.
