simple beauty!

this wheel-thrown cereal bowl is made of high-fire dark stoneware clay. the bowl is glazed at gentle angles in bright white (which turns a warm, toasty tan over the dark clay body) and a deep turquoise. i’m a little smitten with this pairing — the colors play off each other so nicely, and the angled turquoise along the rim gives a soft nod to manta-ray wings in motion.

there’s also a sweet little surprise at the base on one side: the two glazes didn’t quite meet, leaving a perfect tiny triangle of bare, dark clay. it’s a small moment where you can see and feel the raw clay itself — a quiet tactile link back to the material and the earth it came from. you’ll spot it in photo 5.

this bowl is sized for everyday cereal, but it also works beautifully as a grain bowl, a small salad bowl, a cozy serving dish for sides, or a perfect place for fruit, ramen, or snacks. light and easy to hold, made to fit naturally into daily rhythms.
